Willamalane Park and Recreation District will hold its annual Children’s Celebration event on Saturday, June 27, at Island Park from 10am to 2pm. The event offers fun for all family members, including interactive exhibits and activities. Admission is free with a non-perishable food donation.



Attendees can expect fun activities, live performances, and helpful resources from Willamalane and community partners. The event will offer a variety of booths and activities, including games, balloon animals, big trucks, a magic show, martial arts demonstrations, and much more! The event also features four scheduled stage events, which are as follows: 

  • 10:30am – David’s Magic Show
  • 11:15am – TBA 
  • 12:15pm – Music with Miss Jen
  • 1:15pm – West African Drumming

Food donations will benefit the food pantry at Willamalane Adult Activity Center and Willamalane’s Little Free Pantries around Springfield. Pet food donations will also be accepted.


More about Willamalane
Willamalane Park and Recreation District maintains and operates recreation facilities, community centers, pools, parks, trails, and natural areas in Springfield. In addition, the district provides recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, and childcare that are accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Created by voters in 1944, Willamalane is a special tax district, separate from the City of Springfield, governed by a five-member, elected board of directors and managed by an executive director. In 2022, Willamalane earned CAPRA accreditation, which signifies that the organization’s overall quality of operations, management, and service to the community are aligned with industry best practices.
