Springfield’s The Block Party exists to “Celebrate Springfield on One Magical Night, Many Years in The Making.” Returning for its 5th annual celebration, The Block Party 2024 features seven city blocks, over 105 participating organizations, more music, food, libations, and more activities than ever. Organizers are thrilled at the community knowledge and anticipation.

Recognizing the success of past events, Block Party organizers are proud to welcome the City of Springfield as the co-title sponsor with critical safety and infrastructure support. Ziply Fiber will host the 2024 Beverage Garden featuring Plank Town Brewing Co., Oakshire Brewing, and Iris Vineyards. Additional premium support was received from Mr. Ice Cream, Pegasus Playhouse, Commissioner David Loveall, Rise & Shine, Hand of the Heart Massage, Armani Auto, Emerald Bath Works, The Chronicle, KRVM, and KLCC. This support has helped create an expanded website, transportation outreach, and an interactive, mobile-friendly map for attendees to find vendors, performances, and toilets.

Springfield Utility Board will host disaster preparedness booths featuring the Big Shaker Earthquake Simulator, and Springfield’s BPAC hosts free bike valet parking and a mini-transportation hub with free bus rides from Lane Transit District. In addition, there will be musical performances, axe throwing, ample inflatable games, limited edition local artists’ merchandise, and a live community mural by Bayne Gardner, sponsored by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

With expanded hours from 4:00-9:00pm, ample new food trucks, and more space to explore, families are encouraged to bring children to participate in games, win prizes, explore downtown businesses and local artisan vendors, as well as check out Herencia Hispana ’24 on the Springfield Public Library Plaza.

The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a premium sponsor of this year’s Block Party, hosting the live mural by Bayne Gardner, which will be painted on the back wall of the Emerald Art Center at 500 Main Street. Mr. Gardner has begun work on the large-scale painting this week, with artwork to finish during the Block Party, with assistance from the community. The Chamber encourages party-goers to visit their booth next to the live mural, to learn about their Springfield Time Capsule Project commemorating the Chamber’s 75th anniversary of incorporation, the Springfield Chamber Foundation, and this new community art piece celebrating downtown Springfield’s heritage of creativity.
