New Member Profile: AAA Oregon/Idaho
Meet Alicia Clark, Travel Agent with AAA Oregon/Idaho. To welcome them as a new member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, we recently spoke with Alicia to find out more about her and the company.
Tell us a little about AAA Oregon/Idaho and the services you offer.
Everyone knows AAA for our roadside assistance program and probably the “show your card and save” discounts AAA will get you around town and at attractions nationwide, but our best-kept secret is our in-office travel and insurance agents. AAA members can take advantage of some great discounts and value add-ons by booking their future vacations through our in-office travel agents. Our travel agents work with hundreds of preferred partners ranging from hotels, all-inclusive packages, and cruises, to guided tours, travel insurance, and more.
Where and how did you get started in this industry?
I started here in the Springfield Gateway office back in 2019 as an MSA (reception) for AAA. I was helping the travel department a lot and fell in love with how much fun the agents were having at their jobs. They were meeting new people around the world; members were returning and telling them about their vacations; etc. I had already been planning all my friends’ and family’s vacations, and there was an opportunity that opened up in our office to be an agent and I jumped on board and got the position!
What makes AAA unique?
AAA is unique in the fact that, not only do you get a dedicated agent to work with – no bouncing around a call center and talking to a new person every time – but the access to our agents comes at no extra cost to you. Your AAA membership provides you access to travel agents at no additional fee outside of what your travel package would cost you. Our agents are working to serve you and create the most memorable vacation experience.
What do you like most about your work?
I love helping people plan their dream vacations – taking the stress off of them and assisting with planning, and dealing with whatever needs to be done so they can sit back and relax on their vacation.
Anything else you’d like to share?
I would encourage everyone to go check out our local AAA office. We have a wide range of travel products in our travel store, services such as passport photos, international driver’s permits, foreign currency special orders, in-office workshops, and more. We would love to have you come meet our travel and insurance agents in person.
AAA Oregon/Idaho is located at 939 Harlow Road in Springfied. AAA is known as a trusted adviser, from finding the right travel or insurance packages to providing tips and tricks for traveling.
