Meet Jefferson Wisdom, owner and creative mastermind of Signworks. To welcome them as a new member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, we recently spoke with Jefferson to find out more about him and his company.

Tell us a little about Signworks and the types of services you offer.
Signworks is a full-service commercial sign company. We offer and construct every type of signage available or imaginable: simple vehicle graphics, vehicle wraps, business signage, illuminated signs, entry signage, monument signs, sandblasted signs, dimensional/carved signs, laser engraving and cutting, CNC routing and displays, banners, and full color printing on various substrates. Basically, we provide for every possible type of signage and graphics need. It’s hard to grasp our variety, but a visit to our website will give you an idea!

Where and how did you get your start in the business?
I started as an apprentice for LA Signs in 1987. When I moved back to my home state, I started my own business in 1994 in Talent, Oregon. I started in a two-car garage and began to grow rapidly. In 2003, we relocated back to my hometown of Springfield and business continued to expand, nationwide. We owe our success to repeat clients, satisfied customers, and referrals.

What makes Signworks unique?
With the many quick-service print and vinyl shops, we wanted to create a unique niche in the market. We began focusing on custom signage, dimensional signs, hand-carved, and gilded signage. This brought us to the forefront of custom signs and monument signs, which got the attention of Oregon Garden, where we tackled our biggest project of an over-driveway timber frame sign and custom-carved entry sign. We designed a similar project for Willamalane at Dorris Ranch.

What do you like most about your work?
What I like most about the work is meeting with clients and discussing their sign or graphic needs. From there, I work with them to provide the best solution with the best quality and detailed craftsmanship. The biggest reward is their satisfaction.

Anything else you’d like to share?
We like to support our local Springfield community and many of our signs are seen throughout the town or on vehicles. We have grown tremendously in the past two years, from a 900-square-foot location, then to 2,000 square feet, and now to our new location at 2600 Main Street, which is 3,400 square feet.
