Eugene, Ore. – Cascade Health, a local nonprofit healthcare organization with a robust occupational health program, has purchased Nova Health Physical & Hand Therapy in Eugene, Oregon. The acquisition significantly expands Cascade Health’s capacity to offer rehabilitative, preventive and specialty physical therapies to people in Lane County. The clinic will operate under the name Cascade Health Physical & Hand Therapy.

“Cascade Health has offered physical therapy services as part of our occupational health program for many years, but our services were limited to workplace injuries,” said Travis Brooke, director of occupational health. “The acquisition of Nova Health Physical & Hand Therapy will expand our ability to meet increasing demand for work injury-related rehabilitation while also diversifying our offerings to include general orthopedic and specialty physical therapies to anyone needing care.”

The acquisition makes Cascade Health one of the largest independent providers of hand therapy in Lane County. Other specialty therapies offered include pelvic wellness and oncologic physical therapy.

Cascade Health took over operations of the clinic on Feb. 1, 2022, and hired all staff previously employed by Nova Health, including 12 therapists. The clinic will continue to operate from its main current location at 89 Centennial Loop, Suite A in Eugene, Oregon. Nova Health previously operated a satellite physical therapy office in Roseburg; one of the two therapists working there joined the Eugene office and one retired.

Nova Health, a provider of high-quality, convenient primary and urgent care services, divested in physical and hand therapy to focus on its primary business lines. The physical therapy clinics were the only locations not aligned with their primary care and urgent care mission.

“Nova Health and Cascade Health have long enjoyed an excellent professional partnership and a shared mission to provide exceptional personalized care,” said Jim Ashby, chief executive officer of Community Care Partners, parent company of Nova Health. “As we looked to the future of the physical and hand therapy practice, we specifically approached Cascade Health because of their patient-centered health care philosophy and reputation as an excellent employer. We have every confidence that patients and employees of the physical and hand therapy clinic will thrive under Cascade Health’s care.”

Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
