July 29, 2019, Eugene, OR – OCCU has hired longtime retail banking expert Brian Alfano as Chief Operations Officer.

Alfano comes to OCCU with more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently with Unitus Community Credit Union, where he served as VP/Chief Retail Officer. Prior to Unitus, Alfano served as Lender Relations Manager at Clean Energy Works Oregon and spent more than six years in a variety of leadership roles at Umpqua Bank.

Alfano’s charge includes a focus on providing an exceptional member experience with each interaction and enhanced fulfillment and intuitive service delivery through OCCU’s retail channel. His oversight of training and process improvement will assuredly benefit OCCU’s commitment to providing members with “More than they expect. Everything they deserve.”

Ron Neumann, OCCU President & CEO, said, “I am excited about the experience, leadership and perspective that Brian brings to our team. I find him to be an individual who aligns well with our values and am confident he will fit seamlessly into our culture.”

Alfano earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a focus on Environmental Economics from the University of Oregon.

“He is community-service minded – serving on boards for a variety of economic and community development initiatives – and has a passion that fits well with OCCU’s long standing commitment to community involvement,” added Neumann.
